Customers who are subscribed to Cox Communications are set to enjoy free calls to Nepal up to May 31, the company has announced.
In a press release, Cox confirmed that up to 60 minutes of calls placed by its Cox Digital Telephone customers to landline and wireless telephone numbers in Nepal will be free. The entire period for free calling is automatic for all Cox Digital Telephone customers with a Cox Long Distance service plan. It will be a relief to their customers in the country that experienced one of the worst earthquakes on April 25.
Cox President Pat Esser said the company stands with not only their customers but all people of Nepal following the deadly quake. “On behalf of our 20,000 employees nationwide, we want to extend our support to our customers and the communities affected by the recent earthquake in Nepal. Connecting to families and loved ones quickly during a crisis is critical; our hope is to make the connections easier for our customers during this difficult time.”
Under the new plan, customers will not need to take any action before they can receive this discount because it will automatically be applied to their account. This is not the first time that Cox is showing a gesture of friendliness and concern to its customers across the world at a time of need. Cox also offered free calls to the Philippines for its long distance customers in response to Typhoon Haiyan in November 2013.
Good customer service practice world over demands that a company should treat its customers with total love, respect and recognition. By taking such a gesture in Nepal when all other international companies have been mum, Cox has not only showed that it cares for its customers but proven that their engagement is more than just commercial gains.
